Emily is a full-time Professional sheep shearer working in and around Frederick, Carroll, Howard and Baltimore Counties, the eastern shore, throughout Maryland, and surrounding states. Care is taken to provide a quality wool clip as well as provide a good shearing experience for all.
Emily is experienced and knowledgeable about show fleeces, and care is taken to provide every producer with a high quality product. She participates in the ASI Wool Quality Program, and has worked and trained with some of the top shearers in the country.
Emily is trained to shear with both machines (she uses a Heiniger Drop Shaft) as well as shear with Hand Shears. Hand shearing does not cost extra and, as a member of the USA Sheep Shearing Team in this area, she is always looking for opportunities to practice her blade shearing.
Feel free to call or e-mail at any time to schedule a shearing date (the earlier the better), or if you have any questions. Please visit my website listed above, to read more about the services.
Has access to fleeces and can help refer spinners to breeders with fleeces if she does not have what you are looking for. Emily also helps smaller producers find and lease rams for breeding. Contact her for more information. |

Chestnut Creek Farm was established in 2005 by Jeffrey and Jan White. The 64-acre farm located in Carroll County is compromised of rolling forested hills, flat lowland meadows, fields in production, a pond, and several streams. The majority of tillable acreage is kept in corn and soybeans using no-till farming.
The fields nearest the farmstead rotate between vegetables grown for the family and farmers market and legumes (to restore soil quality). Blueberry bushes were planted in 2007 and came into production in 2010. A small orchard comprised of apple, peach, pear and plum trees has been started. We also raise some pastured turkeys that are available in November for Thanksgiving.
Raise Katahdin ewes, and Katahdin/Dorper crossbreds.
Breeding stock is available.
We offer up to 40 CSA memberships. |

A unique farm with Border Leicesters (BL), Blue Face Leicesters BFL) and BL x BFL crosses; a Racking Horse named "Topper"; Maine Coon cats, and rough collies.
Lambs arrive from late March to end of April. The ram is a white BL x BFL cross, who has wonderfully thick, lustrous, crimped wool.
The sheep share their pasture with "Topper" the Racking Horse. Topper does therapy work with local school-aged children and enjoys companionship with the ram. Marlindale Farm also boasts some wonderful rough collies (like Lassie) who DO NOT herd the sheep - that's Topper's job when it's time to come in from the pasture.
All our sheep are covered year-round to protect their fleeces. Our fleeces are shown and sold either privately, or at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. We also have lambs for sale.
Go to our website for more information - and check us out on Facebook for updated information.

Registered purebred and percentage White Dorper meat sheep. Currently have 20 brood ewes. Breeding stock is available.
We sell USDA-inspected frozen lamb directly from the farm -- whole, half, or individual cuts. Our lambs are ready for market at about 8 months of age.
We prefer fall lambing because the lambs grow better in the cold weather and parasites are not as much of an issue.
While the White Dorpers do not grow enough wool to require shearing, the lamb pelts are beautiful and super-soft. We ahve tanned sheepskin pelts.

We have been raising sheep since 1998. In 2006 we converted our Suffolk flock to a purebred Border Cheviot flock. We show all over the country and maintain quality show and breeding stock.
Our flock has influences from Chuck and Denise Orr (Misty Acres), John Eaton (Triple J Acres), Sue Traglia, and Judy Moore. We strive to raise and produce stock that not only excels in the show ring, but also in the field. Our sheep perform well for not only us, but most importantly our buyers.
Some of our accomplishments over the years have included: Supreme Champion Ram - North East Youth Sheep Show, First Place Intermediate Ram Lam - North American International Livestock Expo, Supreme Champion Ram - Maryland State Fair, Champion Ram and Ewe - Keystone International Livestock Expo, Champion Ram and Ewe - Delaware Livestock Expo, Supreme Champion Ram and Ewe - Frederick County Fair, Supreme Champion Ram and Ewe - Howard County Fair.
We were also pleased to be the Cheviot Premier Exhibitor at the Maryland State Fair and the Overall Meat Breeds Premier Exhibitor at the Frederick County Fair in 2012. |

Babydoll Southdowns, or their more formal name Olde English Southdown sheep have been a wonderful addition to our family farm, and can be a wonderful addition to your family - giving you years of pleasure.
Our Babydoll's are natural colored Black sheep that range from light to dark, rich looking natural brown fibers. We're starting to breed for white and spotted Babydoll's as well. Sheep are registered with the original "Olde English Babydoll Southdown Sheep Registry", started by Mr. Robert Mock in 1990.
Our blood lines produce Babydoll's with good dispositions, conformation, health history, fiber quality, and rich colors representing the best in breed qualities the Babydoll Southdowns are so well known for. We only sell our lambs as pets or to others who would like to become breeders.
Breeding stock is available, and also fleeces.
What sets us apart from other Babydoll breeders is our "after the sale" support we continue to provide to all of our customers anytime they need us. After you bring your new Babydoll lambs home, we are just a phone call away. We are now accepting deposits for the upcoming lambing season.
Please give us a call and we can discuss questions you may have about Babydoll Southdown Sheep or lambs. Robert Smyth is also the FCSB Yahoo Chat Group Moderator. |

Located on 25 acres, just outside of Westminster, Maryland, our small handspinners flock of long wool sheep produces both fiber and meat, allowing us to sell yarn from our own flock, spinning fibers, sheepskins and freezer lamb.
Our crossbred ewes are predominantly Romney and Leicester Longwool, both white and natural colored.
We are also passionate about local produce, and grow vegetables, flowers and herbs in our market garden. All of our vegetables are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or fungicides. We do not use any genetically modified seeds.
In the spring and early summer, we sell tomato, pepper, eggplant, and herb plants from our greenhouse, many are heirloom varieties. All of our plants are started from untreated seeds. They are grown in an organic, compost-based potting mix and are fertilized with organic fertilizers & kelp. We also sell brown eggs from our flock of free range laying hens. All of our products are available each week at the Downtown Westminster Farmers Market, Saturday mornings from 8:00 am to noon. |

2013 lambing season. Began breeding in mid August - breeding 35 registered Suffolk Ewes and Suffolk/Hamp. cross-bred Ewes to begin lambing in mid January, 2013. Stud rams used: Vorac 0951 RR/NN (large ram), and our Ellerbrock ram for club lambs. Vorac 0951 RR/NN is the last ram out of ewe 0243 - most consistent Vorac ewe ever.
4-H club lambs available beginning in March-April. Call early, they go quick. Will have two performance tested 2013 ram lambs at the 2013 Pennsylvania Ram Test & Sale.
85% of 2012 and 2013 lamb crop will be RR/NN lambs. Have extensive breeding records and individual ewe lambing records.
We work closely with 4-H'ers and their parents in order for them to have a successful project lamb. Can provide breeding services for your ewes, which includes ultrasounding the bred ewe twice, a month apart. Ram leasing available. We continue with on-going communications and support after the sale.
Visitors always welcome. Bring your camera, questions, and curiosity -- let's talk sheep, lambs, breeding stock.
Also sell grass and grain-fed, custom-processed, vacuum packed, whole or half freezer lamb by the live weight price, plus the butcher shop cost. Have a few in-tact, male lambs for ethnic groups. Take away good memories.
Photo: Lambs like to climb on their mom's back and explore. Suffolk lambs are born black - their fleece color begins to changes to white around 50 days of age. |
